Chicago Bulls Point Guard and Two-Time Slam Dunk Champion Zach LaVine will Join the Fun, Taking on Racing’s Best Live on Thursday, May 21 on Twitch.tv/RedBull, Red Bull TV, and ESPN2
SANTA MONICA, CALIF. – After a strong kickoff last Thursday, Red Bull Homestretch returns to the virtual race track and will continue to deliver on the (mostly) good-natured trash talking and light-hearted vibe established in the first week. The second of six planned events will return to the same battleground – Gran Turismo Sport played on PlayStation 4 – but the playing field will change as three new race tracks will be implemented. And the playful take on virtual racing will once again integrate viewer interaction and on-the-fly rule changes.
Each week the pro drivers will be joined by a rotating “Wildcard Seat,” filled by a celebrity, musician, athlete or other notable personality. Chicago Bulls Point Guard and two-time Slam Dunk Champion Zach LaVine will take the Wildcard Seat for week 2.

Red Bull Homestretch will feature 8 drivers, with the majority of the first week lineup of professional real-world racers returning, including:
- 17- time X Games medalist and rallycross/rally phenom Travis Pastrana
- 9x World Rally Champion and racing legend Sébastien Loeb
- IndyCar driver and Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi
- IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe
- 2019 World Rallycross and 2018 Nitro Rallycross champion Timmy Hansen
- Off-road driver and 3x Baja 500 winner Bryce Menzies
- Former F1, NASCAR, IndyCar and current rallycross driver Scott Speed
Unique aspects of Red Bull Homestretch include:
- Wildcard Seat – The pro drivers will be joined by different “racing outsiders” each week. These seats could be filled by a celebrity, musician, athlete or other notable personality. The Wildcard Seat for week 2 will feature Chicago Bulls Point Guard and two-time Slam Dunk Champion Zach LaVine.
- Flexible Rules – On-the-fly rule changes. During the third and final race of Week 1, all drivers were thrown for a loop when it was suddenly announced the third car across the line (not the first) would be declared the race winner. Look for that trend of unpredictability to continue.
- Fan Interaction – Fans can vote on tasks and rule changes in real-time during the race that the drivers will have to then abide by.
Drivers will take to the virtual track today, Thursday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m. EDT/9:00 a.m. PDT. Tune in to watch live on Twitch.tv/RedBull, Red Bull TV, Red Bull Motorsports YouTube, ESPN 2 and the ESPN app. Details for the subsequent races will be announced at a later date in tandem with participating drivers.
