Victor Vran: Overkill Edition Review for PS4

Victor Vran: Overkill Edition Review for PS4

Most of the players have played X-Men Legends, the top down X-Men game, where we run around killing the enemies using different heroes. Well, we didn’t play X-Men but Victor Vran: Overkill Edition, a same gameplay style, as a hunter. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is created by Haemimont Games and published by Wired Productions. There is something interesting about this hunter named Victor Vran. I started playing this game, and the voice over of the protagonist was very familiar to me. I was wondering where did I heard the voice before, and at last it struck me the sound was of Geralt of Rivia from Witcher. To be true, the game had me attracted as soon as I heard Doug Cockle, the Geralt of Rivia himself.

Victor Vran: Overkill Edition has a really interesting gameplay style with story. It is about a cursed town, which is fully swarming with different kinds of monsters everywhere. The character is actually in the town to save his hunter friend, where it is said that no one has returned once they came to Zagarovia. Then, Victor Vran has to fight through a few enemies and make his way through the castle, where he meets the townsfolks who are still living there. He then meets the princess and figures out what actually is going on with the town itself.

The game has a base or we can say safe dungeon as a castle, and other dungeons to which we can go. Most of the dungeons have sub-dungeons in themselves. We destroy the enemies on the way and try to find our friend. The character has different skills which he can use and can update his skills. There are a lot of treasures and secret findings in each dungeon which is really fun.

The player can equip two different weapons, which can be either, swords, knives, scythe, guns or shotguns. And, players can equip different skills for those weapons. On top of that a player can get addition cards which can give passive skills or bonuses. A lot of times the skills are really interesting and explosive to take out whole gang of enemies.

The graphics are really interesting and enhanced for PS4 itself. On top of that, the voice overs are great especially the protagonist. This game is more of hack and slash killing all the monsters. And, as you go above to higher levels and move to those dungeons the difficulty is great, if you don’t upgrade the weapons and other things, it gets more and more difficult to move ahead. The game sometimes is confusing as it has a lot of dungeons you don’t get a shortcut back to the base right away and you have to go all the way back to find the base gate.

Other than that, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is really a must for the hack and slash gamers. Besides being a bit repetitive sometimes, it is really interesting to play the game. I would definitely like to give Victor Vran: Overkill Edition 8 stars.
