Steep Road To The Olympics Competition is on, Winners to Attend Pyeongchang 2018

Grand Finals in Katowice, Poland on January 2018

SAN FRANCISCO — December 14, 2017 — Today, Ubisoft announced the details of its Steep Road to the Olympics competition, organized in partnership with the International Olympic Committee and worldwide Olympic TOP partner, Intel. These announcements include the competition’s grand prize: invitations to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Qualifiers for the Steep Road to the Olympics competition are now unfolding online, while the Grand Finals will take place at the ESL Studio in Katowice on January 27, 2018.

Player “CheVaBarba,” from UK, already qualified to the Grand Finals via the Steep Road to the Olympics Open Beta that took place from November 28th to December 5th. He will be joined by three players qualified via the Steep Road to the Olympics expansion leaderboards and two wildcards within the passionate Steep community.

To qualify via the Steep Road to the Olympics expansion, players will have to top the Slalom leaderboards before January 8, 2018. One player will be qualified per platform (Windows PC, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One).

These six qualified will then compete at the Steep Road to the Olympics Grand Finals, a LAN event taking place at the ESL Studio in Katowice, Poland, on January 27, 2018. For this event, the competitors will have to prove their worth on two distinct disciplines: Slopestyle (Snowboard) & Downhill (Ski). The best competitor for each discipline will earn an invitation to a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 opening ceremony. Steep Road to the Olympics will also be present via Intel-based PC gaming kiosks throughout the Olympic Village allowing attendees and athletes to test fresh Alpine Skiing, Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing events, including Giant Slalom, Slalom, Super-G, Downhill, Parallel Giant Slalom, Halfpipe, Snowboard Cross, Slopestyle, Ski Halfpipe, Ski Cross and Ski Slopestyle.

Available since December 5, 2017 on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system (includes enhanced features on PS4 Pro), and Xbox One (includes enhanced features on Xbox One X), Steep Winter Games Edition includes Steep base game and Steep Road to the Olympics expansion.

With development led by Ubisoft Annecy*, Steep – the open world action sports game featuring ski, snowboard, paraglide, wingsuit, rocket wingsuit, sled, base jump and speed riding – is designed for a culture that’s all about sharing experiences with the world. Steep features seamless multiplayer, populating the world with players as they explore the Alps, Alaska, Japan and Korea.
