(OTCQB: SPYR), a holding company with wholly owned subsidiaries in the mobile game and app development and publishing industry and the food service industry, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SPYR APPS, LLC, has entered into an agreement with Spectacle Games Publishing to assume the publication and marketing of its Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), Pocket Starships.
Pocket Starships is a free-to-play cross-platform MMO where players can build and pilot numerous starships in real-time space battles, recruit players and form strong alliances, and battle with and against thousands of other players on a quest for galactic domination.
Pocket Starships already has a significant number of players on the web and on mobile devices, including between 100,000 – 500,000 downloads in the Google Play Store. The game has received very good reviews, averaging 4.4 out of 5 stars in the Google Play Store and 4.5 out of 5 stars in both the Apple App Store and on Amazon. The game is currently available to play on the web (www.pocketstarships.com), and it is downloadable for Android, Apple and Kindle mobile devices.
Under SPYR APPS’ agreement with Spectacle Games, Spectacle will continue the development of Pocket Starships to provide regular updates and new content within the Pocket Starships universe, something existing fans of the game have been craving and waiting for. Meanwhile, SPYR APPS will take over the publishing and marketing of the game with its focus being to increase the game’s visibility, acquire more users, and increase user retention and monetization.
