Roll20CON Online Convention Raised $3,500 for Charity

OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS (June 08, 2016) Today, Roll20 released the results of its inaugural online convention, Roll20CON. The convention was held on June 3, 2016 to celebrate the community of gamers,
streamers, artists, and tabletop game publishers that have supported the company from its launch in 2012 until today.

Partnering with Cybersmile, an international nonprofit supporting victims of cyberbullying, Roll20 accepted donations over the course of the convention. In addition, all proceeds from a parallel Teespring campaign went directly to Cybersmile. In total, nearly $3,500 was raised for Cybersmile over the course of the weekend.

Those who contributed received the Roll20CON Exclusive Art Pack, which contained tokens and map tiles usable on the Roll20 platform and created by artists who have become top sellers on the Roll20 Marketplace.

“A massive thank you from Cybersmile to the Roll20 community for this wonderful event and generous donation,” said Dan Raisbeck, co-founder of The Cybersmile Foundation. “All the funds raised will go towards our support resources which are accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

Attendees of Roll20CON were able to participate in two ways. On the main Roll20 site, users were encouraged to play as many games as possible (from 5 th Edition Dungeons & Dragons to small publisher games such as Call of Cthulhu, and countless others). Nearly 37,000 users played games during Roll20CON. Roll20 also organized a 24-hour live event with panels and organized games on their Twitch channel.

Collaborators for the stream included staff members from Dungeons & Dragons publisher Wizards of the
Coast—namely, Principal Story Designer Chris Perkins and Digital and Content Marketer Greg Bilsland—and several cast members from the hugely popular Twitch and YouTube show series, Rollplay. More than 8,600 people attended the live events on Twitch.
