Nintendo has announced that the registration for the Pokémon Super Speed Double Battle Online Competition is now open.

The Super Speed Double Battle features Double Battles, and every Pokémon in the National Pokédex is eligible except Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. All the Pokémon in your party will be set to Level 50 automatically for the duration of the battle—this goes for Pokémon above and below Level 50. Registration is open until Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 23:59 UTC. Space is limited, so don’t delay! To compete, you’ll need aPokémon Trainer Club account and your own copy of the Pokémon X orPokémon Y video game with a party of eligible Pokémon. Please read and accept the regulations on the Pokémon Global Link before the battle period begins.

The competition goes from Friday, August 8, 2014, at 00:00 UTC until Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 23:59 UTC. Trainers will be limited in the number of battles they can compete in per day. Consult the tournament regulations for details. Play hard and try to reach the top of the leaderboards, which will be posted after the competition ends.
