PC REVIEW for Echoes of Aetheria

This is Gaming Cypher’s PC review for Echoes of Aetheria by Dancing Dragon Games, creators of Skyborn and Deadly Sin 1 & 2, and Degi Games.

Echoes of Aetheria begins with a royal wedding, which brings two rivaling nations together. However, right off the bat, the bride is kidnapped by strangers after the ceremony. You begin the game as Lucian, the bride’s brother-in-law, embarking on a dangerous mission to rescue her. Trouble soon ensues with a full blown war and you become the leader of a rebellion army.

Echoes of Aetheria is chock full of treason, defection and rebellion and you will have to weigh your decisions carefully throughout the game as your decisions will have consequences. There are so many delightful story threads throughout the game that are all somehow related. We found the ever changing story quite interesting and fun to play. The dialogue focuses mainly on Lucian, but you will find other character interactions  and conversations spread throughout the game. In addition, you will learn about the life decisions of each member of your party as you progress through the game.

PC REVIEW for Echoes of Aetheria

Echoes of Aetheria features a new 15 tile grid battle system that allows for complex tactical decisions. What we found great about the battle system is the constant gaining of new abilities as you progress through the game. However, only a limited number of your skills will be allowed per battle. The enemies also change quite often, each one having different attacks as well as resistance to your battle moves. Your heroes will have to grow and change along with your enemies in order to defeat them. One slight problem that we found as we progressed through the more challenging battles is that some of the enemies that were closer to us had their health bars concealed so that we could not gauge what type of attack to use at the time.

PC REVIEW for Echoes of Aetheria

Echoes of Aetheria allows for great fun when it comes to gem mining and crafting. We especially enjoyed the augmentation and creation of items. However, be aware that you can only carry a limited quantity of items. This becomes especially troublesome when you find out that you can only purchase certain items throughout the spread-out shops on bases, but not during travel. So if you need healing components, for example, and you run out, you won’t be able to find them during questing. You will find that as you progress further along the game and get hit by hordes of enemies, for example, you will wish that you had more healing components close by.

We found Echoes of Aetheria extremely fun and interesting and filled with amazing exploration, combat and storyline.

We recommend a definite BUY and rate it as 4.5/5

Echoes of Aetheria is now available on Steam and the Degi Games website.
