VIRZOOM ANNOUNCES IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE EMULATOR SUPPORT FOR VR GAME TITLES EVE: VALKYRIE, PROJECT CARS, OMEGA AGENT, TIME MACHINE VR AND RADIAL G
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – VirZOOM, maker of VirZOOM Arcade VR exercise games designed by award-winning game development veterans and the exercise bike-based VR motion controller, today launched the VirZOOM PC Gamepad Emulator. The VirZOOM Emulator, immediately available for downloaded for free on the Steam store, lets VirZOOM customers enable their favorite VR titles for VirZOOM game play. Emulator titles complement the ever-expanding library of VirZOOM Exercise Games included with the VirZOOM VR eGame controller.
“VirZOOM is pleased to expand its suite of VR exercise games through the VirZOOM gamepad emulator. “VirZOOM customers can play their favorite motion intensive game VR titles and get fit doing it,” said Co-founder and CEO Eric Janszen. “By sharing their VR game emulator files on Steam, VirZOOM customers crowd source a growing library of 3rd party VirZOOM titles. Over time hundreds of VR titles can be available to VirZOOM customers via the emulator.”
“The emulator allows you to map all the sensors of the VZ bike, including accurate speed sensing, 10 buttons, and lean information from your VR headset into joystick and keyboard inputs to drive your favorite VR and video games,” said VirZOOM Co-founder and CTO Eric Malafeew.
The proprietary hardware and software VirZOOM VR Exercise Game Platform makes fitness equipment fun by harnessing the emotional power of VR to motivate physical responses that result in exercise. Patent-pending motion controls limit locomotion discomfort even in VR games that entail sharp turns, flight, and other challenging forms of VR motion. The addition of the gamepad emulator expands the range of content VirZOOM customers can use on the VirZOOM bike.
VirZOOM’s AAA development team creates specialized VR exercise games that ship with the VZ Controller. In the games you power a tank in battle, a Pegasus though a Canyon, or an Apache helicopter in a firefight, among six games that will now ship with the VZ Controller. The VZ SDK lets 3rd party developers modify existing VR games and create entirely new VZ-enabled games. Motion controls embodied in the SDK free VR game developers to create game designs that cannot be accomplished without them. The SDK enabled a range of motion forms that commonly cause locomotion discomfort.
The company shipped early access VirZOOM product in June via web site pre-orders for $399.95 and plans to launch via retail channels on November 1st, 2016. The company is also engaged in ongoing discussions with potential OEM partners to deliver a range of fitness and gaming applications for its VR Exercise Game Platform.
Co-founded by CEO Eric Janszen and CTO Eric Malafeew in February 2015 and headquartered in Cambridge, MA. VirZOOM is compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlaystationVR headsets (headset sold separately). It is currently available for order for $399.95 per unit at virzoom.com.
