NEBULOUS Review for PC

This is Gaming Cypher’s PC review, done my JessTheArchMage, of sci-fi physics-based puzzler, Nebulous, by developer Namazu Studios.

Surrounded by idiots an astronaut is forced to do a spacewalk – everything that could go wrong went wrong. The astronaut gets sucked into a wormhole, and you play as the idiotic crew that carefully solves the puzzles so your fellow astronaut gets safely through to the next wormhole. The unlucky astronaut who must endure all of this madness is hilarious! Constantly making comments about your ability to solve puzzles, as well as funny bickering back and forth with the crew. Nebulous by Namazu Studios is an absolute delight for a casual gamer.

NEBULOUS Review for PC

The game itself is a MUST for the VR Oculus, but it is just as fun with a mouse or even a gamepad. I can easily spend countless hours solving these puzzles. The challenges and obstacles were very creative and mind boggling to work with. I personally failed numerous times on a couple of puzzles but the constant comments of the unlucky astronaut definitely kept the game light and frothy.  If it wasn’t for the humor of my failure, I would of definitely had a more frustrating fesona while playing. The animations were smooth and the physics were spot on. For the price of $14.99 I can see a puzzle goer surely getting their money’s worth out of this one. I rate Nebulous a solid 8 out of 10.

Here are the Nebulous Key Features:

  • Solve a plethora of brain-teasing puzzles
  • Use or dodge bouncy aliens, gravity machines, conveyor belts, space rocks, lasers, blocks, blocks, and more blocks (and other stuff)
  • Physics-driven puzzle “fun”
  • Fun is in quotes to show that it’s actually really fun
  • Guide a powerless astronaut through an absurdly horrific limbo and relish his misfortunes as he questions his sanity in fully voiced dialogue
  • Play hands-free in fabulous Oculus Rift VR-o-Vision
  • There’s no such thing as space madness

Nebulous is available on PC (Steam), with PS4 and Oculus Rift planned for the future.
