Five Players Drafted to Join Dimez for Mavs Gaming Second Season
DALLAS, TX – Mavs Gaming has selected five players to fill out their roster at the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft that took place today at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. After the inaugural season of the NBA 2K League, Mavs Gaming retained Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd, the 2018 number one overall pick.
Five players were selected using subsequent picks with draft position determined by a snake order arrangement — No. 5, 14, 25, 41 and 59. The players in today’s draft were selected from a pool of 198 draft-eligible players, consisting of 144 new players who were selected by the league following an extensive tryout process, six players from the league’s first-ever APAC Invitational that took place in Hong Kong in early February, and 48 unretained players from the inaugural season. Each team had to use its first five selections to fill each of the five positions on the basketball court. The final selection could be used to select a player from any position (point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward or center).
