Tactical Starship Defense Game Gets a Full Release in Q1 2016

AUSTIN, Texas – Nov. 4, 2015 – Former management team members of Ubisoft and Stormfront Studios, forming Codex Worlds, have released the free open beta of Infinium Strike on to Steam for PC.

This open beta for the Kickstarter-funded space strategy/action game includes both a tutorial as well as several campaign missions, and is listed on Steam as Infinium Strike Demo. The full game will release on Steam and The Humble Store in Q1 2016 for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Infinium Strike takes place centuries in the future, in the middle of an intergalactic conflict between humanity and a horde of sentient alien ships known as the Wrog. For decades, the Wrog have destroyed every trace of humanity in Earth’s deep space colonies, and all hope appeared lost until the discovery of a powerful resource known as Infinium.

Players assume the role of the weapons officer on the battlecarrier Freedom Strike, the only human ship made almost entirely of infinium. Surrounded by Wrog ships on all sides, players must tactically build customized turrets, send out fleets of specialized fighting vessels and utilize powerful weapons known as SuperTech in order to save mankind.

Infinium is the core element used in the process of creating liquid metal and is gained from defeating Wrog ships. Strategic management of resources for offense and defense is key in Infinium Strike, as players fend off enemy waves coming simultaneously from four different fronts.

A variety of Wrog ships with their own strengths and weaknesses is matched by a wide selection of player-controlled weapons systems, fleet ships and SuperTech, each designed to specifically circumvent a Wrog strength and exploit a weakness.

Infinium Strike immerses players in a unique take on space battles fought from one ship in all four directions through a full campaign and an endless space arcade mission.” said Dexter Chow, creative director of Codex Worlds.
