Microsoft has announced that Halo: Spartan Strike is currently being developed by Vanguard Games and 343 Industries.
The new title is a follow-up to Halo: Spartan Assault and will release for Windows 8 tablets, smartphones and PCs, including a version for Steam. Halo: Spartan Strike is set during the events of Halo 2 and will be a top-down twin-stick shooter.
The developers announced the following improvements:
- Improved controls
- New enemies, including the Prometheans
- New abilities
- New vehicles
- 30 missions and Xbox Live Achievements
- The Steam version will have its own Steam achievement list
- No micro-transactions
Halo: Spartan Strike will release December 12 for $5.99 for Windows 8 mobile devices and PC.
