Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One will feature a range of major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever. In addition to increased draw distances and 1080p resolution at 30FPS, players can expect a range of additions and improvements including:

  • New weapons, vehicles and activities
  • Additional wildlife
  • Denser traffic
  • New foliage system
  • Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more

Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One comes with the all-new First Person Mode, giving players the chance to explore the world of Los Santos and Blaine County directly through the eyes of their character, revealing all the world’s glorious details in an entirely new way.  Available in both GTAV and GTA Online, Rockstar Games has made a host of changes to accommodate this new perspective, including the creation of an optional first person cover system, a new targeting system, a more traditional FPS control scheme, and integrating thousands of new animations into the existing game. It’s also available at the touch of a button so you can easily switch back and forth between perspectives.

To reward loyal Grand Theft Auto V fans for coming back to the newer, more detailed version of Los Santos and Blaine County, Rockstar Games has created an array of exclusive items specifically for these players – with each of them connected to activities designed for them to experience the game’s massive world in new and exciting ways.

Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One will also feature enhanced radio selections with over 150 additional new songs and new DJ mixes from returning DJs across the game’s 17 radio stations.

Enhancements to Grand Theft Auto Online include an increased player count, with online play now for up to 30 players on Xbox One.  All existing gameplay upgrades and Rockstar-created content released since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online will also be available for the Xbox One with much more to come.

Here’s how pre-oder and pre-download works. When a title becomes available for digital pre-order in the Xbox Store, select “Pre-purchase” to buy and download the game. You will be charged the full amount upon transaction and may use any supported payment method, including an existing Microsoft account balance or credit card. The game will download, along with any updates issued before the release date, so the game is up-to-date and ready to play. Then, when the game is officially released to the Xbox Store, timed with local launch availability, simply go to the game in My Games & Apps, go to your pre-pinned tile, or say “Xbox, go to Grand Theft Auto V” to start playing. Titles will be available after midnight local time on the release date in your corresponding country, though some countries with multiple time zones will align to one release time.

Similar to other digital downloads, you will need a consistent Internet connection to download a pre-ordered game and your Xbox One will need to be turned on or in connected standby (Instant On) mode. Of course, you can check the download progress at any time in your download queue, My Games & Apps, or on the game details page. And if you have multiple games loading simultaneously, you can prioritize titles, pause, and resume downloads in your queue.

Grand Theft Auto V releases November 18 for Xbox One and PS4.
