These are the highlights of this year’s gamescom supporting program:

Cosplayers welcome!
The gamescom cosplay village is this year once again the central meeting point for the creative community. In hall 10, the cosplay village presents itself with many events, extras and practical tips. The Zeichengarten (drawing garden), for example, is the meeting point and temporary domain of talented mangaka and illustrators. For those who need assistance repairing their cosplay costume, the cosplay smith is a good address. Three different photo corners in the cosplay village perfectly stage the costumes of the cosplayers and, thanks to a souvenir photo, leave a lasting impression. Besides other actions, it of course wouldn’t be the same without the cosplay stage with its many show acts, contests and interactive actions, as well as the popular cosplay contest. You can find all information about the cosplay village 2017, including the costume regulations for this year here: http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/gamescom/trade-fair/events/gamescom-cosplay-village/index.php

indoor area
The really big stage in the supporting program of gamescom is provided by the social media stage powered by the BMVI (Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure) in hall 10.1. For four days there will be a great program here, made by the community for the community. The first highlights are already fixed: the gamescom award 2017 will be conferred on Thursday, 24 August at 5:00 p.m. The winners of the cosplay contest will be honoured on Saturday, 26 August at 2:00 p.m. The nominees of the ’17 minutes gamescom fame’ action will also present themselves to the public. It also goes without saying that well-known YouTubers will ensure spectacular entertainment on all other days. You will soon be able to find further details on the stage programme here: http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/gamescom/trade-fair/events/social-media-stage/index.php

The ‚gamescom gamespark powered by Honor’ (hall 10.1) offers a plenty of games presentations with focus on mobile gaming. The Internationale Deutsche Casemod Meisterschaft (DCMM) is also taking place in hall 10.1 and will show how the world’s best casemodders create breathtaking works of art from grey computer housings. Talented women and men demonstrate their abilities in the 24 hour Livemodding Challenge and compete for a coveted place on the winners’ podium. Visitors to gamescom 2017 can also once again play the action-packed Laser Game on site. Laser Game combines sporting challenges with tactical skills and is a real live gaming event. The signing area, where gaming fans can meet their stars, is of course also in planning − details are coming soon.

outdoor area
Visitors to the outdoor area on the P8 can look forward to action under the skies. While a short time-out from the hubbub of the trade fair is offered at the gamescom beach presented by big FM with a summer atmosphere and chill music, the Red Bull Action Area blows the roof off. Here you will find two-wheel action, daring jumps and breathtaking tricks on the program. International motorbike stunt riding-, BMX flatland & trial bike daredevils demonstrate their ability several times a day. And the COS Cup is of course also once again making a stop at gamescom. The series consists of individual championships and contests in which pro-skaters from throughout Germany can qualify for the official German championship at the end.

For families: family & friends
In hall 10.2, visitors can look forward to an area especially oriented to families with children. With many exclusive offerings and child-friendly play stations for playing together or watching, families can experience gamescom together in a relaxed environment. Among other things, the entire family can play Headis here, ping-pong with the head, visit the popular retro gaming special event or take part in a variety of skate workshops. The human kickers of the evangelischen Jugend (Protestant youth organisation) in Cologne is looking forward to the little and big gusests as much as the Landesverkehrswacht (state traffic watch) is. This year too there will be an exclusive ticket contingent reserved for families. Families can make use of this until 19 August. However, the family ticket contingent for gamescom Saturday is already sold out. This way to the family ticket http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/gamescom/trade-fair/ticket_2/index-2.php

gamescom campus
At the gamescom campus in hall 10.2, Jugendforum NRW (North Rhine Westphalia Youth Forum) and many other institutions and companies will provide offerings on the subjects of youth protection, media competence and games. Visitors can also look forward to exciting lectures and shows on the gamescom campus stage.

Those who want to inform themselves about career opportunities and possibilities for development in the games industry are at exactly the right place with jobs & career. As the official career platform of gamescom 2017, the dialogue platform successfully brings together those responsible for personnel and games specialists.

In the speakers’ corner, interesting lectures provide inspiration for personal or professional further development and career planning.
