The Gamers Salute 2017 convention also will host the second annual Clash of the Carolinas — one of the largest East Coast esports events — at NCSU’s Talley Student Union center. The best collegiate players from leading North Carolina and South Carolina universities — including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina State University, Appalachian State University, Western Carolina University, East Carolina University, Elon University, Duke University, Durham Technical Community College, the University of South Carolina, Clemson University and Wake Forest University — will compete in five tournaments featuring Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Overwatch and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

“Gamers Salute and Clash of the Carolinas unite students and fans of some of the greatest North and South Carolina universities with gamers from all walks of life,” said Ross Ledford, Gamers Salute and Clash of the Carolinas founder. “Now in its second year, our rapidly growing event offers a jam-packed weekend of fun and entertainment, while also raising awareness for two fantastic charities —Operation Supply Drop and Extra Life — that use the power of video games for great good.”
