Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn game Producer and Director, Naoki Yoshida, stated that PS3 players will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version for free, but in the process, they will lose the login rights to the PS3 version.
Yoshida added that in order to keep the upgrade free, the firm decided to go with a rights transfer as the proper option.
Once the players makes the switch, the login rights will be bound to the PS4 version, so in order to play the game on both consoles, players will need to own two copies of the game.
Upon its release, the PS4 version of the game will be presented in full 1920 x 1080p resolution and will contain keyboard and mouse support, as well as use the DualShock 4′s touch pad as a mouse.
Yoshida is expected to show the PS4 version for the first time around the end of the year. He stated that it will be “indistinguishable from the PC version.”
