Detroit Pistons and Eko to Launch ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE DETROIT PISTONS Interactive Video Experience

Fans hit the hardwood with Detroit Pistons players in a streaming live-action game experience

AUBURN HILLS, MI – December 5, 2016 – The Detroit Pistons announced today that they have teamed up with Eko, the new interactive entertainment platform from Interlude, on an original cinematic game experience called “One-On-One with the Detroit Pistons.”  Using vivid live-action gameplay, Detroit Pistons fans and basketball fans everywhere will have the chance to go head-to-head in their own one-on-one match-up against Pistons’ stars Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris, Tobias Harris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

“One-On-One with the Detroit Pistons” released today, December 5, and is available on mobile and desktop at www.pistons.com/1on1.

“We are pleased to partner with Eko to deliver an exciting new interactive video experience to our fans,” said Charlie Metzger, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports & Entertainment.  “‘One-On-One with the Detroit Pistons’ demonstrates our utilization of cutting edge technology to drive fan interaction.  We are excited to provide opportunities for our fans to connect with our team and our talented young players in an engaging and exciting way.”

“One-On-One” utilizes the Eko platform to deliver cinematic live-action that instantly and seamlessly responds to fans.  Fans experience what it’s like to play one-on-one with the Pistons, can share their results socially and enter to win Pistons promotional and collectable prizes.

With “One-On-One,” the Detroit Pistons become the first sports franchise to utilize interactive video technology to engage basketball fans everywhere.

Basketball is known for its dynamic displays of skill and athleticism, and “One-On-One” drives that action home with a fast-paced sequence of shots, dribble-drives, steals and blocks through a series of interactions and gestures.  Fans are able to master these moves to control the outcome, shape the experience as it unfolds and charge up power moves against the competition.

Interlude’s groundbreaking technology, powering the Eko platform, dynamically constructs the streamed video in real time based on the fan’s interactions wherever they are – one a mobile device, desktop, or right in their Facebook or Twitter feed, without the need for downloading an app or buying additional gear.

“The Detroit Pistons are at the forefront of sports franchises in their approach to innovative technology and entertainment as new generations of sports fans continually seeking ways to connect with their favorite players and teams,” said Yoni Bloch, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Interlude.   “Our goal with ‘One-On-One’ is to give participants and basketball fanatics a digital, yet very true to life one-on-one experience on the court.  With Eko, we are constantly pushing the limits of digital entertainment and we are thrilled to work with the Detroit Pistons to deliver our latest creation to sports fans.”
