The Descendant is Now Part of the First Italian Video Game Archive

The Descendant is now part of the collection of Archivio Videoludico of Bologna, Italy, the first Italian Video Game Archive, created in 2009 in collaboration with the University of Bologna and the videogames publishers operating in Italy (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and many more).

The Descendant is an episodic adventure game series, developed by Gaming Corps and published by Microids, with all five episodes released for PC and MAC on Steam.

Supporting video game preservation, scholar, researchers and fans access to our material maters to us. And a place that preserves the past while looking at the future… What a great match for The Descendant!” – Jean-Marc Broyer, President, Gaming Corps.

About The Archivio Videoludic of Bologna

The goal of the archive is to allow videogame scholars, researchers, and fans to access material spanning over sixty years of videogame history. The project benefits from its spacious location in the Renzo Renzi library, an ideal meeting place for both gamers and scholars. The Videogame Archive aims at becoming a starting point for the promotion of a deeper investigation of the videogame medium. The Archive regular activities include lectures and workshops, movie retrospectives, collaborations with high schools and with the University of Bologna, all of which create privileged partnerships that foster the development of a true center for videogame research and analysis. As of January 2017, the catalogue of the Videogame Archive lists more than 4,850 titles.

The Descendant Episode 1: Aftermath is now available for PC on Steam.
