NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Clash of Kings for Android has officially achieved a milestone on the Google Play Store: 50 million installs. Developer ELEX also noted that this is just a part of its total downloads, given its availability on Web, iOS, and of course, Android platforms.
That puts Clash of Kings in the top tier of strategy games around the world, and it got there in a little over a year as ELEX first launched Clash of Kings on Google Play in late July 2014. On its Google Play page, the game has 1.4 million reviews, and nearly 1 million of them are five stars.
Clash of Kings has seen huge growth over the past year, and much of its growth can be attributed to the proliferation of Android devices, considering the app just reached 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store, a large percentage of which make up the game’s total of over 100 million downloads.
Of course 100 million downloads does not mean 100 million active users, but it’s impossible to deny that Clash of Kings has had a big impact on the crowded mobile gaming space. In addition to being crowned Facebook’s 2015 Game of the Year, Clash of Kings has now been in the top 5 grossing games in 80 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Russia, Turkey, etc.
Clash of Kings wants to deliver a great user experience on all major platforms, and the company sees Android as an important platform to reach their global audience. The game developer has been very diligent in maintaining a high level of quality for the title and listening to players’ feedback, according to Peng Yue, chief producer at ELEX.
“We hit 50 million downloads on the Google Play store. Thanks to the Kings and Queens around the world for the support. We couldn’t do it without you,” said Peng Yue. “Just because we hit 50 million installs on Google Play doesn’t mean we have to stop there. We’ve had success all over the world and now we’re going to bring the game to even more players.”
Clash of Kings is a real-time strategy game where players build an empire, and it involves elements such as city-building, castle defense, and conquering lands. In this massively multiplayer online game, you can challenge, team up with or just chat with other players from all over the world.
Clash of Kings is available for download on Google Play, App Store and PC.
