16 eSports Teams From Around the World Will Battle for $2.5 Million Prize Pool Using RL2460HT Displays at Sold-Out Event

COSTA MESA, Calif. — March 16, 2016 — BenQ America Corp., a globally renowned LED and gaming monitor expert, today announced that ZOWIE, the company’s eSports brand, will supply the RL2460HT as the official console gaming monitor for the Halo World Championship 2016 Finals in Hollywood. The sold-out event will be held at Raleigh Studios from March 18-20. The RL Series monitors are purpose-built to deliver the highest-quality gaming experience for the eSports community, with special features that support first-person shooter (FPS) gaming such as lightning-fast 1ms GTG response times.

At the event, 16 of the best eSports pro teams from around the world will compete, including Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid, along with six more North American teams. Opponents include eight other teams representing Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Singapore and Mexico. These players will compete for a share of the $2.5 million prize pool, with the winning team taking home a total of $1 million — the biggest individual prize pool in console eSports history — and the title of Halo World Champion 2016.

“The Halo World Championship 2016 is one of the most prestigious events of the year, and as the official monitor, the RL2460HT is the best console gaming display on the market,” said Ronald Kim, eSports marketing at BenQ America Corp. “Our monitors are driven by our love of eSports and built specifically for pros, giving them the tools for a winning edge. We focus on creating products that truly optimize the gamers’ chance of playing at their best.”

The RL2460HT 24-inch LED backlit gaming monitor is perfect for high-speed FPS console gaming. Co-developed with eSports legends, the monitor boasts a built-in HDMI output to provide uncompromised streaming and sharing of the screen. With a blazing-fast response time of 1ms GTG, the RL2460HT renders fast-moving action and dramatic transitions smoothly without annoying smearing or ghosting, ensuring onscreen action flows freely and split-second decisions can be made in the heat of battle.
