Thanks to an agreement signed by Sony Computer Entertainment and Unity Technologies, the Unity engine will be delivered to a variety of popular Sony platforms such as the PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PS Mobile.
PlayStation game developers will be able to build games without spending many resources on complex programming processes, and easily port their games to PlayStation platforms.
Of note, Unity will also allow developers to create games for future PlayStation cloud services.
Players will be able to purchase games which are developed through the platform on the PlayStation Store.
Incidentally, Nintendo has already signed a similar deal with Unity, but offers a free engine license with all Wii U developer kits to help entice indies to the new console.
Unity for Playstation is expected to launch in the Fall.
Are you excited about playing games built with the Unity Engine?
