Sure Shot HD Digital Console Review

Remember the time when there were games like Duck Hunt, where you just shoot the flying ducks and had some fun, playing this new Sure Shot HD console had some nostalgic feeling that was brought back to me. Super Happy Fun Fun Inc. is the developer who developed this wonderful console. It has been a long time since I played fun and interactive console, in this period of Virtual Reality, this stands out as something like arcade shooting consoles, still reminding us of the older generation, but giving a flavor of current generation as well.

Sure Shot HD comes with a small console bar, which has the processing power and plugs into the TV through HDMI. The console bar needs to be placed either directly below or directly above the TV. Sure Shot HD comes with a wireless gun. The console bar is used to calibrate the wireless gun and that is why you need the bar within an easily accessible range. The wireless gun can be used as a pistol as well a rifle with the help of attachment for shoulder support.

The setup is easy, the person holding wireless gun must be standing at least 6ft to 10ft away from the TV, so that the console will be able to setup and calibrate the wireless gun. The console is capable of running 1080p HD resolution on TV. Players can create their own account and set things up.

The console comes installed with one game, and currently there are two other games available in the developer’s web store. The games are as follows:

  • Big Buck Hunter Pro
  • Major Mayhem
  • A Thug in Time

I tested Big Buck Hunter Pro, and it reminded if of old classic Duck Hunt, on 8-bit console. The game is like the Pro Hunting games, but feels more like you are in there. It has dozens of different environmental terrains per location and each location has sub locations as well. The game was tough for me to get used to earlier as I am not much of good shooter, but after a while I got some good shots. The graphics of the game are good as well. The game can also be played in 2 player mode. Good thing is that the gun really feels like a real gun as you must keep reloading every time you take a shot.

The issue I had a couple of time I figured out was I was taking shots and even though I shot at the head it still showed a missed shot – it seems as though maybe there is a little bug in there.

In the end concluding I would like to suggest this is seriously a great and fun console to play with your family and friends, and has a great potential in the series. I would give this console 8.5 stars. And would like to give the game Big Buck Hunters Pro 7 stars.

Sure Shot HD is available for purchase at Amazon and at the developer website as well.
