SpeedRunners wins Gamer’s Voice Award at SXSW

tinyBuild Games announced that SpeedRunners has won the Gamer’s Voice Award at SXSW.

SpeedRunners – the cut-throat competitive platformer – introduces an Offline Party Mode that’s positioned as a free demo. The demo is a full local multiplayer game, wrapped in a party-friendly package.

Here is what they had to say about it:

We’re incredibly proud to announce that SpeedRunners picked up the Gamer’s Voice Award at the South By SouthWest Awards in Austin over the weekend.

What makes this award super sweet for us is that it wasn’t picked by a panel of judges — rather, it was chosen by SXSW attendees from a shortlist of 30 games present on the SXSW show floor. That means players chose SpeedRunners as their winner over the likes of Hyper Light Drifter, That Dragon, Cancer, Darkest Dungeon and Apotheon; all games that we were humbled to be part of a showcase with.

For our game to be picked above all of these incredible titles is just out-of-this-world, and we’re so grateful to everyone who voted forSpeedRunners.

It also turns out that abusive orange hats light up really well under the blacklight of an awards show. We knew we’d bought all these hats for a reason.

The demo is available now on Steam.
