Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Review for PC

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Review for PC

Another wonder from publisher Daedalic Entertainment after their previous Deponia. This German publisher/developer came up as a sunshine during the end of December. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is developed by another German developer Mimimi Productions, and published by Daedalic Entertainment. This is an extremely unique game which is now one of my favorites. Shadow Tactics reminds me of Mark of Ninja, which was a similar concept but just one protagonist and 2D stealth based game. This one is a full 3D and strategic camera angle, which gives us access to utilize our moves optimized. Let’s talk about the gameplay.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun starts with us being an assassin, and we must stealthily move and kill the enemies to move through the map. The game is set in ancient Japan, which was going through a war. The game is based on stealth, hiding bodies and finishing the objectives we are provided with. We can even see the enemies view cone. This gives us an idea of moving and staying away from the enemy’s sight. Each mission can take up to 20 mins to somewhere around 3 hours to be completed depending on the way you are playing it. Day and night settings of the game are significantly different. Different terrain setting can be used for surviving; even the snow can either be used as luring the enemy or can be bad for player as enemy can track player back.

There are total of five different characters with whom we are assigned to play the missions. Every mission has preset character – a samurai, ninja, rookie, sniper and assassin. Every character has a different skill set; samurai can do heavy lifting and special double kill skill; ninja, rookie and assassin are similar in terms of movements, but their special skills are different, And sniper is good for all the top spots, and can kill at high distance. The most important feature and most helpful one is called shadow mode, in which we can store one action for each of the characters, and when played, it helps us execute those actions simultaneously. The game also needs one important thing – it is the saving feature – every couple of minutes this game needs to be saved. It’s a quick save feature using F5 and F8 is the quick load. This really helps in getting back to the last best condition we had before the game went in a bad way for the player. The graphics of the Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun are really intriguing and have awesome color to the game. It looks amazing, and the way sounds and noise are displayed visually makes it more interesting to play. We can avoid a lot of attention of this visual depiction of noise.

The audio and music of the game are also some of the main components which let us figure out if the player is in trouble or not. And the music in the background the developer used is such a great creation that I just stored it on my computer. They have done a great deal of work in creating this game and we can see that.

I already spent more than 40 hours playing Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and I still wanted to play more. This is just not some random game, where you just do missions – it came with an actual story line which is the best part of the game. It keeps you attracted to the game.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Review for PC

For the conclusion, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a wonderfully created piece. And this will be going down in history one of the best games. The game has great graphics, story line and the best part which I cannot emphasize on more than already is the great gameplay features. I would definitely like to give this game 10 stars.
