OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS – Roll20, the leader in online tabletop roleplaying games, announced their upcoming online-only tabletop gaming convention, Roll20CON. This 24-hour event will run from 12:00am until 11:59pm Pacific Time on June 3, 2016.
During Roll20CON, gamers everywhere will be able to tune into an organized schedule of tabletop games, which will be streamed live on Twitch. Panels and demonstrations will also appear on the schedule. Online convention attendees will be encouraged to begin their own games as well and try out Plus-level subscription features including advanced “dungeon-style” lighting.
Roll20CON will be produced with the assistance of Cybersmile. Founded in 2010 by the parents of children directly affected by cyberbullying, Cybersmile has grown to become the world’s leading anti cyberbullying non-profit organization. A portion of the profit from Roll20CON will go directly to Cybersmile, to help their efforts to prepare this and further generations for a safe and positive digital future. More information about Cybersmile can be found at cybersmile.org.
“Ever since we began Roll20, we’ve wanted to host a convention of some kind,” said Nolan T. Jones, cofounder of Roll20. “As we came to the realization that there was more than a convention’s worth of people playing via us every weekend, we decided it was time to really sit down and celebrate with the community. So look forward to an ambitious, sleepless online party in June!”
More details about Roll20CON will become available in the coming months.
