Razer Summer 2017 Tour to Bring High-Performance Gaming Experience to More than 20 U.S. Cities

IRVINE, Calif. — Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, takes to the road on May 28 for the first stop of its 2017 Razer Experience Tour.

Organized around music, gaming, action sports and other events, Razer will give event attendees a chance to immerse themselves in advanced gaming and virtual reality technology, or to compose their own electronic music tracks with state-of-the-art computers and software at the Razer Music demo.

Razer’s summer tour begins Sunday May 28 at the SoundSet Music Festival in Minneapolis, hitting major college campuses nearing its conclusion in September. On the way, the rolling entertainment experience will stop at events including Comic-Con International (San Diego), E3 (Los Angeles), Rooster Teeth’s RTX (Austin), the Free Press Summer Festival (Houston) and QuakeCon (Dallas).

More than 20 interactive demo stations featuring Razer’s newest Razer Blade laptops and accessories will give visitors the ideal environment to experience PC and virtual reality games. They’ll be able to test their skills in custom racing pods with Project CARS™ 2, which is a game currently in development by Slightly Mad Studios and being published by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. The competitor who records the fastest time each day will win additional prizes.

Event attendees can also play the latest games titles on the high-performance Razer Blade series laptops. The systems are powered by VR-ready Intel® Core™ i7 processors and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 10-Series graphics, as well as Razer’s newest gaming mice, keyboards, headsets and console products.

Consumers will also have the ability to create custom Razer Blade “X-Rays” using green screen technology, choosing from popular gaming heroes to reveal their inner gaming character and share with friends.

Shifting from consuming entertainment to creating it, the Razer Music experience section will show how music production software like Image-Line’s FL Studio integrate Razer Chroma lighting to add a visual element to audio production. Full licenses of Image Line’s flagship music production suite, FL Studio: Producer Edition (a $200 value), are available to all registered owners of 2016 or newer Razer Blade laptops.

“We built the RazerStore in San Francisco with the philosophy of getting together and gaming with friends,” says Travis Wannlund, global director of community marketing at Razer. “With the Razer tour, we’ve taken this communal spirit on the road so our fans and newcomers alike can experience the life that Razer is all about.”

Guests can enter to win a Razer prize pack at each stop, including the 14-inch Razer Blade laptop and a suite of accessories featured on the tour. The company will give away hundreds-of-dollars-worth of gaming hardware at each event. Users who cannot experience the tour may visit the Razer Tour page to register for giveaways online.
