Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut Review for Xbox One

Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut Review for Xbox One

We have had the pleasure of reviewing Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut for Xbox One by Grip Games, publisher of shooter smash hit Tower of Guns, and developer Toxic Games.

As Q.U.B.E (Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion) starts, we found ourselves awakening in a mystery-packed spaceship, with a mission to prevent an enormous alien structure from slamming into the Earth. We received guidance from an International Space Station astronaut throughout the game, which came in quite helpful.

In order to move through Q.U.B.E and find your way home, you have to discover all the ship’s secrets by manipulating very challenging (some a lot more than others) collection of physics-bending blocks. You are given gloves that help you maneuver through different colored objects – Yellow blocks form steps, Blue blocks are spring boards that help catapult you to different heights, and Red blocks, which extend outwards to different lengths, all depending on which ones you click on first. There are also Purple blocks, which help you roll and spin into different segments of the room that you are in as well as positioning a ball. A little later into the game, you’ll encounter beams of lights and magnets, which can become quite challenging.
