SCE Japan held a PlayStation 4 press conference in which the official release date was announced.
Japan’s PS4 launch date is February 22, which is later than its Western release. Sony said that the delay compared to the western release was to ensure that western titles were all localized prior to the console’s release.
The PlayStation 4 will cost 38,980 ($390) yen without a PS Eye camera or 43,980 ($440) with it. The pre-orders will begin October 5.
At first, Japan’s PS4 will be the “Limited Pack” that includes a download code for Knack as well as a year’s extended warranty for the console. The Limited Pack will be available for both with and without camera bundles. Incidentally, tge Western Playstation 4 will not include a copy of Knack.
