MANCHESTER, July 27 2017 – Publishing ace Mike Rose is today announcing No More Robots, his new data-driven publishing label, alongside its first partnership, extreme downhill biking game Descenders from Dutch studio RageSquid.

Rose previously took publisher tinyBuild to great heights with titles like Punch Club, Party Hard and Clustertruck, selling hundreds of thousands of video games across Steam, mobile and console. Prior to that, he made a name for himself as a video game critic for the likes of Gamasutra, Kotaku and PocketGamer.

Now the industry veteran has finally taken the obvious next step and founded No More Robots, a publishing label run by real people with real publishing experience, with the goal to work alongside some of the games industry’s greatest talent.

Rose has previously shown his talent for spotting and signing unique games that sell, and implementing publishing and marketing strategies that truly work.

On top of that, No More Robots will take a data-driven approach, utilizing wide-ranging video game sales figures and statistics to pin down exactly what makes games sell. Rose has previously been well-known for collecting and dissecting useful sales and marketing numbers at both Gamasutra and tinyBuild.

The new outfit will also have a strong community focus, with Twitch and Discord integration at its forefront, utilizing Rose’s vast experience with streaming and community building.

Initial investors in No More Robots include former IGF Chairperson and industry veteran Simon Carless (GDC), who is also advising the publisher on strategy; and respected game lawyer and business advisor Jas Purewal, who is well-known for providing general counsel to a wide range of video game businesses.

The first title from the new publishing label is Descenders from Dutch studio RageSquid, an extreme downhill freeriding game with procedurally generated worlds, and where mistakes have real consequences.

Descenders has a strong focus on high-end visuals and tight gameplay, while special Discord and Twitch integration will help set the game apart.

“Founding my own video game label is absolutely a dream come true,” said Rose. “I’ve helped numerous developers sell hundreds of thousands of games, and now I’m ready to really show what I’m capable of.”

Descenders is due to release soon for both PC and consoles.
