A-Maze-In Review for iPAD

This is the review for the iPAD version A-Maze-In by MAROBI Entertainment Inc., a small startup based in Montreal Quebec.

A-Maze-In features 5 unique islands with more than 110 unique mazes—and a monster stable that rivals the best in Greek mythology: Cyclops, Hydras, Harpies, and Centaurs. The game’s five massive boss fights feature such foes as the terrifying Medusa and Cerberus the Hellhound. Even the world-famous Kraken gets released!

Fight monsters, collect power-ups, and locate the key(s) that unlock the exit. Making use of Mino’s many Minotaur abilities—special skills such as “Fire Belch,” (a deadly burp that turns enemies into ash) and “Force of Nature” (fart to stun enemies!)—is the only way to stay alive. That and avoiding the game’s many deadly traps—which include floor spikes, crumbling floors, giant boulders, and flame throwers!

Graphics
We found the graphics of A-Maze-In to be vibrant, colorful and pleasing. It’s easy to distinguish between the various characters, traps and loot.  We gave the graphics a 4.5 / 5.

Sound
The sound of A-Maze-In is very lively and works perfectly with each level. There are even funny sound effects such as when you stun enemies by farting or destroy them by massive burps. These funny sound effects will help relieve the stress of completing the more challenging levels. We gave the sound a 4.5 / 5.

Gameplay
A-Maze-In features more than 110 mazes to explore within five distinct themes. If you are a fan of Greek mythology, then you will love this game. You get to battle 11 different enemies such as Harpies, Greek warriors, three-headed Hydras, and the inimitable Cyclops. We found each level more and more challenging as not only do you get to battle enemies, but you have to avoid crumbling floors, saw traps and giant boulders. We gave the gameplay a 5 / 5.

Controls
The controls of A-Maze-In are pretty typical to the iPAD. Just click on the direction arrows on the bottom left side of the screen. The arrows are large enough where you can manipulate them through your peripheral vision as your eyes follow your little protagonist.  We gave the controls a 5 / 5.

Overall
Overall, A-Maze-In is a fun game for the iPAD with many levels and enemies to keep you busy and challenged. We find this game to be a whopping combination of Greek Mythology and Pac Man style all meshed into one.

4.5 / 5
