Horizon Zero Dawn Review for PS4

Horizon Zero Dawn Review for PS4

Somewhere around one year ago, I played Witcher 3 right around the time, the last expansion came by. I played the game and fell in love with it, and put a lot of hours in the game as well. Then last E3 I heard of Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerilla Games. I was expecting something different, and wasn’t so excited but as I saw the gameplay demo, I was psyched up to play this game. And for my earlier reference of Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn reminded me of Witcher 3 in a lot of different ways.

Horizon Zero Dawn Review for PS4

Starting with the graphical side of the game, one of perfect piece of art. I was looking through the artwork online, and they came up with some of the greatest graphics and designs. The game looks far better on PS4 Pro because of 4K enhancement. I just bring the graphical upscaling. The terrain contains from normal Grass Lands, rivers and mountains, Desert land, Snowy mountains, as well as the Forests. They got one of the biggest in game map, thanks to the fast travel option it feels a bit faster to travel, or it takes forever to get from one end of the map to another. The music and audio has been perfectly designed for the game story itself. It has a perfect sync to the battle and scenic melody while wandering inside the game.

The story is all about a girl who has no mother and who is raised as an outlaw, and shunned by her own tribe, and after she is all grown up and at the right age, she goes for the provings, where she has a chance to know the truth and accepted in the tribe back. And an attack happens which changes everything. And she is made a seeker to find the truth about the attack which killed a lot of kids. The earth shown is inhabited by humans as well as machines, and the old civilization is lost and human are back to living in castle and huts.

The gameplay is similar to that of Witcher 3, where you go out accept quests and do story as well side missions. For every level we get skill points which can be used to get certain skills. The game can be played as stealth or we can go arrow blazing. We can use a lot of different weapons including bow, bobs, ropecaster, tripcaster. Machine killing provide crafting ingredients, and materials, which can be used to upgrade the inventory storage as well as weapon. And then we have lance to use as melee as well. This game has a lot of ways which can be played with, and rewards are pretty much exciting. The rewards are really helpful most of the time. There are certain cauldrons, more like dungeons, which provide overrides for the machines which help us control them and they can fight for us. Few of the machines, when overridden, can be used as mounts to travel between.

Horizon Zero Dawn has a lot of potential to get another sequel in the series and provide a huge amount of gameplay hours. There are so many things to go do in the game that it is worth every time you play it. I would definitely give this game solid 9.5 stars.
