gamescom Award 2017 Winners Announced

Star of the evening: Super Mario Odyssey wins the best of gamescom award, prizes in three jury categories and the public prize

The winners of the most coveted prizes of the European computer and video games industry have been decided. In addition to the expert jury’s decision about the winners in a total of 21 categories and the Best of gamescom award, the public prize, the gamescom “Most Wanted” consumer award”, was also announced on 24 August. The award ceremony took place on the Social Media Stage in hall 10.1. More than 100 submissions reached the award office, which was this year once again run by the Digitale Spielekultur foundation.

The winners of the gamescom awards 2017 have been decided:
Super Mario Odyssey claimed the coveted best of gamescom award this year. The switch title from Nintendo was also convincing in three jury categories, including Best Family Game and Best Action Game. Super Mario can also take the gamescom “Most Wanted” Consumer award with him for his new adventure. Other awards went to, among others, Assassin’s Creed Origins from Ubisoft, Middle-earth: Shadow of War from Warner Bros, as well as to Kingdom Come: Deliverance from Koch Media.
