gamescom 2016 (August 17-21) is picking up speed. The first registration phase ended on 19 February with a top result: the current result (February 19) is once again more than 60% higher than the registration status on the comparison reference date in 2015. Companies from 33 countries have already registered. In the entertainment area 21% and in the business area 16% more area has been booked than at the comparison date. The partner nation Turkey is represented with 500 square metres in the business area. In comparison to the previous year, the area occupied by the partner nation in the business area of gamescom grew fivefold. Group stands from Germany, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, the USA/Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain and South Korea have also already registered their participation in the largest event for interactive entertainment at an early date. And the results of the early bird campaign are impressive not only in quantitative terms; gamescom is also on the path to success in terms of quality: numerous top names of the games industry are already among the first registrations.

The following international market leaders and renowned companies of the computer and video game industry, such as astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Bigpoint, CD Projekt, Crytek, Deep Silver (Koch Media), ELECTRONIC ARTS, Gameforge, Gaijin Network, GREY BOX, Kalypso Media, Konami, Nintendo, Perfect World Europe, Square Enix, Techland, Ubisoft, Unity Technologies, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Wargaming, among others, are already represented at gamescom 2016. Many providers of hardware, virtual reality solutions and accessories, like Alternate, Caseking, ESET, Roccat, Oculus VR, Samsung, Sennheiser Communications A/S and Teamspeak Systems, will also exhibit in the Cologne trade fair halls from August 17-21. Represented for the first time at the world’s largest event for interactive entertainment are, among others, Captiva, GIGA-BYTE Technology and Wingracers Sports Games. In addition, the line-up will include E-Sports presentations from Turtle Entertainment, among others.

Following the successful premiere at gamescom 2015, the organizers of the Indie Arena Booth have also reserved their space at the world’s largest event for computer and video games at an early date.

The current result shows: the gamescom concept is successful and the prognosis for a successful gamescom 2016 thus could not be better. Trade visitors can look forward to the largest business area in the segment of interactive entertainment software at Europe’s leading business platform for computer and video games. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of gaming fans can already look forward to spectacular games presentations and exciting events in the context of gamescom.

gamescom closed in 2015 with a record result: 806 exhibitors from 45 countries presented their new products in an expanded area of 193,000 square meters. Around 345,000 visitors, 33,500 of which were trade visitors, from 96 countries visited gamescom 2015.
