Due to the overwhelming success, gamescom and Geoff Keighley will partner for multiple years on gamescom: Opening Night Live. On the day before gamescom on August 24, 2020, producer and host Geoff Keighley will once again thrill fans worldwide with lots of gaming news and many world premieres. All registered exhibitors of gamescom 2020 have a chance to be part of the stage programme of the opening event. Interested companies can soon secure their presence at the world’s largest event for computer and video games under www.gamescom.global . On the public days, August 26-29, 2020, the location of gamescom: Opening Night Live also offers a varied programme for gaming fans in 2020 as the gamescom event arena.

The feedback of fans, media, and the industry confirmed the successful premiere of the gamescom: Opening Night Live. One thing is already certain: fans and the games industry can also look forward to many announcements and world premieres from large publishers and indie developers in the coming year. Appearances by prominent guests should also once again be part of the programme.

In 2019, the new opening event, the gamescom: Opening Night Live, provided the furious start to the gamescom week. Host and producer Geoff Keighley thrilled more than 1,500 visitors on site and millions of people worldwide. More than 500,000 spectators watched simultaneously in the live stream.

The successful concept of the gamescom event arena will also be continued. On all public days, visitors of gamescom can look forward to a spectacular programme – from eSports tournaments through games presentations to gaming shows. Interested exhibitors of gamescom can secure their slot in the gamescom event arena effective immediately. In 2019, the event arena was booked up entirely on all public days with companies like Riot Games, ESL, Gameloft and Telekom.
