Daedalic’s The Pillars of the Earth and State of Mind E3 2017 Impressions

Daedalic's The Pillars of the Earth and State of Mind E3 2017 Impressions

I had the pleasure of meeting the Daedalic crew at E3 and playing a couple of their games. The first one is Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth. I really enjoyed the gaming adventure and had a lot of fun playing it. This was a very enjoyable storytelling-driven experience based in 12th Century England. The Pillars of the Earth is very interactive, and actually changes the events of the book through decision making, character interaction and dialogue as well as exploration. I highly recommend it!

Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth will release August 15, 2017 for PC, Mac and Linux on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The other game from Daedalic, together with Martin Ganteföhr, that I was fortunate to experience is State of Mind.

State of Mind is a futuristic thriller with a dystopian reality and a utopian virtual future. While playing, I was entranced by the innocence and beauty in which the game revealed its true characteristics of nature and in a sense I was truly intrigued by the environments. All the while, the characters remained in a stylized pixeled experience which was quite amazing.

Essentially, your character wakes up immediately from a coma not knowing what to do in a the world and they must discover the true lore of the game themselves.

Over all Daedalic’s had quite an impressive showing at E3 and I would highly recommend these two games.

State of Mind is scheduled for release in Q1 2018 for PC, Mac, Linux (Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
