Celebs to Highlight Chicago Video Game Expo

 

CHICAGO – World-record holders, film stars and icons of the video game industry will be featured at the first annual Arcade, Video & Game Room Expo 2016 set for Aug. 25-27 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center, 5440 North River Road, Rosemont, Ill.

Celebs to Highlight Chicago Video Game ExpoRob Berk of Warren, Ohio, founder of Pinball Expo, the first and longest running vintage pinball exposition in the U.S., held each year in Chicago, is hosting the new event and is promising an exciting menu of guests and activities including:

  • Billy Mitchell, considered by some as the greatest arcade and video game player of all time while setting numerous world records for such games as Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and others.
  • Richie Knucklez, world record-holder for the classic game Space Invaders and an actor/producer of several films including “The King of Arcades.”
  • Joel West, a Berzerk and Frenzy arcade world record holder, star of “Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade” and a marathon gamer who has played arcade games well over 48 hours straight on a single quarter.
  • Walter Day, founder of Twin Galaxies Arcade in Iowa, and a video game scoring authority and historian. He starred in the documentary “King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.”
  • Eugene Jarvis, creator and author of such games as Defender, Stargate, Robotron: 2084 and many more.
  • Doc Mack, owner of Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, Ill. that is billed as the largest arcade in the world with more than 500 machines.
  • Vintage Arcade Video Tournament.
  • More than 200 arcade, video and other coin-operated machines set on free play.
  • Vendor area to purchase arcade, video and other coin-operated machines, parts, magazines, books, DVDs and more.
  • Seminars on video game topics
  • Opportunity to visit Galloping Ghost Arcade.
