The cities in Albion Online will receive a huge overhaul in March
Berlin – February 7, 2017 – Development studio Sandbox Interactive announced the first details to the next update for Sandbox MMORPG Albion Online. One of the major focus points will be the new biome cities. They will find their way into the game with the next content update “Galahad” in March. Sandbox Interactive showcases the new cities in a detailed video, which you can see below.
Cities in Albion Online are crucial to the everyday social and economic interaction in Albion Online. Players chat, try to recruit fellow adventurers to their guilds or trade their goods on the local markets. The new biome cities will change the cities’ structure and looks significantly, as their new design and architecture will match the surrounding biomes and landscape.
Adventurers with vertigo should steer clear of the mountain city, for example. Bold architects erected the city on a steep mountainside, and the city’s buildings allow for a look into the dark abyss of the canyon below. The steppe city, on the other hand, serves as an oasis of calamity and relaxation, providing visitors with water, supplies and resources after a long trip through the barren steppe.
In the middle of the Royal Continent, there will be a unique central city, built upon the ruins of an impressive fortress of the old kings. While the Royal Expeditionary Forces managed to reclaim and rebuild the fortress, their control is not absolute. As the city lies in the red zone, it is still surrounded by the Undead and other evil creatures. Luckily, the city has plenty tunnels and secret passages to sneak in and out of the city.
The new biome cities are:
- Swamp City
- Forest City
- Highland City
- Mountain City
- Steppe City
- Central City

Albion Online is a sandbox MMORPG from Sandbox Interactive, set in the medieval fantasy world of Albion. Whether playing a hardened fighter, a farmer, a merchant or a master craftsman, in the player-driven world every single weapon and every single building is created by the players. Thanks to a “you are what you wear” system free of typical class restrictions, a skilled archer can instantly become a powerful mage, and the players define their own role within the game world. PvE, PvP or the battle guild vs guild, every action in the game has a meaning … as well as consequences. PvP battles in the danger zones of the game world are a “winner takes all” affair. Albion Online is the first PC game to enable the exact same experience on tablets. All cities will be part of the Galahad-Update, due to release in March.
